I’m sure a lot of you will have made resolutions this New Year after the excesses of the Christmas period. Remember for the good of your eyes to eat lots of fruit and vegetables. Yellow foods and dark green leafy vegetables are particularly good, along with carrots and dark berries like blueberries. The nutrients in these foods help build macula pigment, which can help prevent macula degeneration, the leading cause of sight loss in the UK.
National Eye Health Week
Monday 24th of September sees the start of the annual National Eye Health Week when optometrists and opticians throughout the UK actively promote eye health. We are in danger of taking good eyesight for granted; don’t!! Have regular eye examinations (ring 01382 224620 to book one with us); eat a wide variety of coloured fruit and vegetables; don’t smoke; and protect your eyes from UV light with good-quality sunglasses or special coatings on your spectacle lenses. For more information please call in or contact us on 01382 224620
We’re sponsoring a Guide Dog puppy
To celebrate me being in the practice for 20 years we decided to help sponsor a Guide Dog puppy- meet Buddy- isn’t he cute?!! If you would like to help us raise additional funds, we have badges and cleaning cloths available for a small donation, and we have a competition to win a wee cuddly Guide Dog puppy toy. Just call into the practice to participate.
