National Eye Health Week

19-25th September is designated National Eye Health Week, when opticians throughout the UK actively promote eye health. As you know, eye health is something we are passionate about at Lindsay and Johnson, and which we promote to all our patients. For the week we have free magazines and recipe booklets to give out; please call in for your copy (stocks are limited, but we will always be happy to provide you with any information or advice you want).

Choosing Frames With Style

It may be difficult to choose a frame to suit you- it’s an important decision and the results will be with you and anyone who looks at you for some time to come. We have a great range of frames, from sophisticated and stylish to fun and funky, and very friendly, experienced staff to advise you on what suits. Ring 01382 224620 for an appointment or use our “Request Info” button for any questions you might have.

My other life…

I know that some of you know that my family had also just started an alpaca farm. The animals are very inquisitive and cute and each has its own personality. So, when I’m not testing eyes,I’m mucking out or feeding these gorgeous animals. Life is never dull! I couldn’t resist sharing this picture of Ajax with you – it makes me smile.

Children’s Frames

If your child needs glasses it is very important that he or she feels happy wearing them and that the glasses fit well and feel comfortable. We love seeing children here at Lindsay and Johnson; we make the eye examination fun and we have a great range of frames. We advise you on the correct fit of the glasses and make whatever adjustments are required to ensure that your child is happy wearing glasses. Book an appointment for your child now on 01382 224620, or ring or email us for more information. The good eyesight of your child is priceless.

New Frame Ranges

We choose our frame ranges very carefully with you in mind. Since the New Year we have chosen fantastic frames from four new ranges; Mango, Nordic, Brooklyn and Tokyo Tom. Tokyo Tom are Japanese-inspired and are incredibly light and stylish. Mango are made in beautiful colours with strong, bold shapes. Nordic are also made from a very light material with revolutionary joints and sides. They come in cool, clear colours. Brooklyn are a young-at-heart range, with an urban, cutting-edge vibe.
If you would like to see any of these new frames call in and see us. We’ll take the time and trouble to frames that really suit you.

Talking About Eyes

Yesterday I gave a talk about eyehealth to a friendship group in Stobswell, Dundee. The talk seemed well-received and I had loads of questions at the end. If you would like me to talk to your Guild, club or society in the Dundee area, ring the practice and we’ll arrange it. I don’t need any technology- I bring laminated cards.
